Foundation and footing excavation
The foundation starts as a hole dug to the plan. TM Contracting excavates footings and foundations for homes and commercial buildings.

Digging what the building sits on
Foundation excavation is the hole, the footings, and the soil handled so the concrete crew can work. TM Contracting does that for residential and commercial projects. The foundation is dug, spoil is stockpiled or hauled, and the grade around the hole is left so water is not running into the forms.
On Hunterdon lots the variable is the ground. Some holes are clean soil. Some hit shale that has to be broken, or groundwater that has to be managed for the short window the hole is open. The builder’s plan sets the depth and the footprint. The quote gets more accurate when that plan, or at least the footprint and the town, is attached to the request.
Part of a site package
A foundation dig is rarely the only thing a large residential or commercial site needs. Clearing, the drive, drainage, and septic often travel with it. Pricing them together keeps the crew on the property. Mark commercial or large residential on the form and list foundation excavation in the scope.
The same excavation applies to a farm building that needs frost footings or a real foundation rather than a shed sitting on the grass.
