Site preparation in Pittstown and Hunterdon County
Site prep is the work that makes the rest of the project possible: clear it, strip it, cut the subgrade, and leave a pad the next contractor can use.

What site preparation includes
On a TM Contracting site, preparation means the ground is actually ready. Land is cleared where the building, drive, and working area go. Topsoil is stripped and stockpiled instead of being pushed into the pad. The subgrade is cut to the elevation the plan calls for, or to a simple building footprint when the job is a farm building or a home without a full civil set.
The current crew already describes it this way: any part of the site process, from land clearing and stripping soil to subgrade and a foundation that can be built on. Residential, commercial, and agricultural sites all use that sequence. The difference is the plan, the truck traffic, and how long the machines stay.
Commercial, house, and farm sites
A commercial pad usually arrives with survey stakes and a drawing. The work is to match them. A new home on a wooded Hunterdon lot often starts with a house location, a septic area, and a driveway path, and the prep has to respect all three. A barn pad is judged by whether equipment and livestock will have a dry, stable yard when the building is up.
Erosion control belongs in this phase. Silt fence, a stabilized entrance, and a rough way for water to leave the site are part of getting a disturbed Hunterdon lot through a rainstorm without sending the pad into the road.
What to send with the request
Town, approximate acreage or pad size, what is being built, and whether drawings exist. If a demolition has to happen first, say so. If utilities are still in the ground, say so. The quote form is set up for those facts.
